Week One
It’s only been 3 days, but I had to tell y’all how great week one is going! I’ve been eating mostly hummus, veggie pita wraps, fruit and smoothies and I even went to the gym tonight…something that I rarely (I mean RARELY) do haha. I’m determined to get back in shape and start feeling great again.
One thing I really need to work on… My bedtime.
julene asked: So... I am transitioning to eating mostly raw after reading a book by Natalia Rose. Do you use aspects of food combining as a part of your diet? What are your thoughts on that?
ginamoney asked: What raw vegan breakfasts do you recommend? I'm trying to think of things other than smoothies because I have to wake up really early and I don't want to wake up anyone with the loud noise :/
Anonymous asked: I find eating Kale is really tough and fibrous when you have it raw so I like to quickly boil mine til it's tender although that does make it really soggy. I was wondering if you eat it that way or raw or if you prepare it differently? Also, lately I've been wearing my hair the way you do your curls and I love it! Thanks! :)

I figured out my transition plan...
I posted last week about transitioning back to raw vegan and after much deliberation, I’ve put together a “plan”. Ideally, I would do it overnight but I know that would end in disaster (ie. Binge). Instead, I am eliminating certain foods each week like I did last May.
Week 1: NO sweets or fried foods (falafel!)
Week 2: NO gluten or sugar
Week 3: (-)cooked foods (+)raw
...

Big thank-you to those of you who gave me tips. I used them all (really, every single one).
Answering questions tomorrow. If you have anything on your mind, I would love to hear from you! :-)

I am beginning to realize that when I don’t eat right it effects every single part of my life. School, mood, romance, social… It’s remarkable. An improvement in my overall quality of life makes any and all dietary “restrictions” (though I don’t like to think of them in that way) worth it.

Transitioning Back to Raw
Hey y’all! So I’ve been doing some thinking and I have decided that it’s time for me to get back to a raw vegan diet. I felt AMAZING during the couple of months that I spent eating only fruits and vegetables and I’m ready to feel that way again. I’ve been watching YouTube videos (one of the best sources of health inspiration!) and I’m excited to wake up to an...

Fact: I didn't have my first salad until I was 19...
I grew up on chicken strips, french fries, pizza, icecream, candy, you name it. In fact, the only vegetables I really ate as a teenager were tomatoes—largely in the form of ketchup—and canned corn. Cheese was also one of my favorite foods (seriously, I used to put 4 slices on my grilled cheese sandwiches) and I’ve had my share of steak-eating contests with my brother. Not to...

Anonymous asked: Hi Shelby, so I'm starting the no-poo technique, in order to stop using shampoo, and conditioner. How do you advise cleaning the old jars. For example. I took a body spray, emptied the content, but I'm having a hard time thoroughly cleaning the spray part. Also, can you post a picture of the things you use to keep your acv and baking soda in?
